# Vigi-Sky

> Vigi-Sky is a bilingual (FR/EN) citizen-science observatory launched 15 January 2026 by Christophe Boiral (online: Chris / drakkB). Free tools to measure a light in the sky — azimuth, stars, video authenticity — without ever claiming "UFO detected". French site: https://vigi-sky.fr — English site: https://vigi-sky.com

## Field tools — desktop app & phone stations

- [VigiSky Sentinel](https://vigi-sky.fr/sentinel): free Windows 10/11 desktop app, companion to the witness guide. Observe, anchor, verify, analyze, classify. Local SGP4/TLE, physics-based AI-video clues (no "UFO detected"). English: https://vigi-sky.com/sentinel
- [Vigi-Sky Ciel](https://vigi-sky.fr/ciel): in-browser live sky identification (stars, Messier, planets, satellites). English: https://vigi-sky.com/sky
- [Quelle est cette étoile brillante ?](https://vigi-sky.fr/quelle-est-cette-etoile.html): how to tell Venus, Jupiter, Sirius, satellites and aircraft apart, with a magnitude table and FAQ; links to the phone tool. EN: https://vigi-sky.com/en/what-star-is-that.html
- [Événements du ciel](https://vigi-sky.fr/evenements): Starlink trains and bright ISS passes over France/UK computed 48 h ahead (per-city times), plus witness-report clusters explained by calculation with a verdict: compatible / contradicted / untestable / under review — never "UFO detected". JSON: https://vigi-sky.fr/api/sky-events — EN: https://vigi-sky.com/events
- [Vigi-Sky Témoin](https://vigi-sky.fr/temoin): phone witness station (azimuth, elevation, time). English: https://vigi-sky.com/witness
- [sky-proof](https://github.com/drakkB/sky-proof): MIT Rust crate — photon noise, micro-shake, cadence. Method: https://vigi-sky.fr/verifier-video-ia — EN: https://vigi-sky.com/verify-ai-video

## Flagship interactive tools

- [Birth Star](https://vigi-sky.fr/etoile-naissance.html): the star whose light-travel time equals your age.
- [Celestial map](https://vigi-sky.fr/celestial-map.html)
- [Tonight / forecast](https://vigi-sky.fr/ovni-forecast.html): geolocated planets, Moon, ISS, Starlink trains, meteor showers — anti-confusion bulletin, not a "UFO probability".
- [ISS tracker](https://vigi-sky.fr/iss.html) — EN: https://vigi-sky.com/en/iss-tracker.html
- [Auroras France](https://vigi-sky.fr/aurores.html): NOAA Kp. North France typically Kp ≥ 6, centre Kp 7, south Kp 8–9.

## Data and method

- Hatch UDB (18,116 cases, 1900–2002, Larry Hatch) is an imported historical archive, not Vigi-Sky's live corpus. Public Vigi-Sky case files are still at zero until a witness consents to publication.
- Star catalog: Yale BSC + Hipparcos/Gaia via d3-celestial (BSD).
- Vigi-Sky does not claim extraterrestrial origin by default.
- Citation policy: free with attribution to vigi-sky.fr (or vigi-sky.com for the English pages).
- Method: https://vigi-sky.fr/methodologie.html — EN: https://vigi-sky.com/en/methodology.html

## MCP — agent reference (shipped)

- Public: https://vigi-sky.fr/mcp (also https://vigi-sky.com/mcp) — protocol 2025-11-25, 20 live tools + 29 resources.
- Query live ISS/aurora/identify, Hatch UDB (1900–2002 archive), NASA APOD/NEO, Starlink trains, and **Ciel des peuples** (`first_skies`: 9 named nations, never "the Indians").
- `tonight_sky(lat,lon)` = Kp + next *dark + sunlit* satellite pass + cultural asterisms that can actually rise. Not a UFO forecast.
- Documentation FR: https://vigi-sky.fr/mcp/documentation
- Documentation EN: https://vigi-sky.com/mcp/en
- The protocol endpoint accepts POST, not browser GET. Documentation URLs above are the canonical human-readable pages.
- Local companion: `vigisky-sentinel` (`sentinel-mcp`, stdio or 127.0.0.1) — 4 workflows (photo, video, night watch, triangulate). Photos never leave the machine.
- Never claims "UFO detected". In France, official reporting is GEIPAN (CNES).
